Camshaft _ Removal
[] 1Remove d:stributor Remove intake manifold and circu-
lating pump2Remove rocker arm covers, loosen rocker arms, then remove push rods and valve lifters3Remove crankshaft pulley, harmonic balancer, timing chain cover, timing chain, and camshaft sprocket
4Install two or three 516 -18 inbolts in camshaft sprocket bolt holes and carefully pullout camshaftUse care not to
damage camshaft bearingsMeasure:
Camshaft JournalsRefer to General Engine Mechanical section in this manualDo not attemptto repair the camshaftReplace the camshaft if damagedWhenever the camshaft needs to be replaced, new set of valve lifters must also be installed
