Do not hammer sprocket onto camshaftThis may loosen rear camshaft welsh plug
7Draw sprocket onto camshaft using the mounting boltsLubricate the timing chain with engine oiL

1Clean gasket surface on block and crankcase front cover2Instal! new oil pan gasket and oil panSee Oil Pan in this section3Coat the gasket with sealer and place in position on coverApply 1fs in(3,175 mm) bead of GM Silicone Rubber Sealer, PiN 1052366 (or equivalent), to the joint formed at the oil pan and cylinder block4Position crankcase front cover over crankshaftPress cover downward against oil pan until cover is aligned and installed over dowel pins on block5Instal! the front cover-to-block attaching screws6Tighten front cover to block boltsSee Torque Specifications at the end of this section for the torque figure
