1Install valve lifters in cylinder blockIf any new lifters or new camshaft has been installed, an additive containing EP lubricant such as GM Engine Oil Supplement must be added to the crankcase oil for break-in2Install push rods onto liftersInstall intake manifold3Pivot rocker arms in place and install rocker arm boltsTighten bolts to 40 ftIbs(54 Nm)4Install rocker arm covers, using GM Sealer No1052289, and tighten nuts to 115 inIbs(13 Nm)5Install exhaust manifoldStart engine and check for oil leaks at rocker arm covers Valve Spring and Seal Repair
Removal
1Remove rocker arm cover
2Remove spark plug, rocker arm, and push rod on the cylinder(s) to be serviced
