Remove alternator and power steering beltsGrasp circulating pump pulley and check end and side playTurn pulley to check for dragLook for water leaking from indicator hole beneath pump shaft behind pulleyReplace pump if play, drag, or leakage are
evidentRemoval and Installation
1Drain water from block and disconnect water hose from circulating pumpRemove pulleyRemove circulating pump bolts, pump and gaskets2Use new pump to block gaskets and sealerInstall new pump assembly on cylinder block and tighten bolts as specifiedInstall pulleyInstall alternator and power steering belts, then adjust tensionConnect hose to circulating pumpLake or tank test unit and check for leaks
