4Apply engine oil to the crankshaft bearingsInstall crankshaft bearing caps and bolts to the blockDO NOT install the rear crankshaft bearing cap at this time INoteJ
In order to prevent the possibility of cylinder block andor crankshaft bearing cap damage, the crankshaft bearing caps are to be lightly tapped into their cylinder block cavity using brass or leather mallet before attaching bolts are installedDO NOT USE ATTACHING BOLTS TO PULL CAPS INTO THEIR SEAT
The arrows on the crankshaft bearing caps must be facing the front of the engine
