8 TILT MECHANISM 8- DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

All stern drive engine installations equipped with an electric tilt mechanism lift and lower the driveThe mechanism consists of: direct-current motor; hammer-blow coupling; worm shaft; worm wheel-and-clutch assembly; solenoids; switch; battery; and the necessary wiring for activation and control of operationT tilt system is wired the ignition switch "T1 terminalThis wiring arrangement allows operation of the system only when the ignition switch is in the ON position
SOLENOIDS
Two solenoids installed side-by-side, for the up movement and the the for the down movementThese solenoids perform mechanical jobs electro- magnetically by completing the heavy electrical circuit between the battery and the tilt motor
