ENGINE CUT-OUT SWITCH
IGNITION COIL
Continuity
TEST TEST PROBES RESISTANCE VOLTAGE NOTE
Open circuit BLACKYELLOW and BLACK wires O.L Engine cut-out switch must be in RUN position
FAN-COOLED ENGINES TEST
Output RED and BLACK wires 4.5 to 6.5 7.0 to 15.0 Vac Ground continuity BLACK wire and engine wires 00.0 to 00.5 Secondary winding voltage BLACK wire and engine .100 to .250 Vac The measurement must be taken on the spark plug cable (without the spark plug)Cable resistance Spark plug cable and cap 4.0 to 6.0
BLACKYELLOW and BLACK wires 00.0 to 00.5 Engine cut-out switch must be in STOP position
TEST PROBES RESISTANCE
Ignition Coil
Disconnect housing between the magneto and the MPEMCompare readings with those appearing in the IGNITION COIL tableDuring voltage testing, when manually starting the engine while the spark plug is installed, the engine will tend to accelerate beyond the compression pointThis will result in higher magneto outputAlways repeat the procedure timesIGNITION COIL
