INSPECTION OF AC CIRCUIT ISOLATION
All Electric Start Models If AC circuit is not isolated from frame, headlamp beam will weaken
When measuring resistance at terminals the actual value will be half the measurement in tableThe reason for that is the elements are connected in parallelTherefore the total resistance is half the resistance of one element
INSPECTION
Disconnect regulatorrectifierOn models with hydraulic brake, pull off the rubber boot from brake light microswitch assemblyConnect one digital ohmmeter probe (needle ohmmeter will not offer enough precision) to frame and other probe to one of YELLOW magneto wiresMeasured resistance must be infiniteIf such is not the case, it means there is connection between AC circuit and DC circuitDisconnect one accessory at the time to identify the faulty circuit
