Unbolt battery cover steel strip and remove battery coverCLEANING
Clean the battery, battery casing, vent tube, caps, cables and battery posts using solution of baking soda and waterRemove corrosion from battery cable terminals and battery posts using firm wire brushBattery top should be cleaned by soft brush and any grease-cutting soap or baking soda solutionSkandic LT CAUTION: Do not allow cleaning solution to enter battery interior since it will destroy the electrolyte

Unplug vent tube (if applicable) from battery vent nippleDisconnect the black negative cable first followed by red cable and remove battery1
All Models Visually inspect battery casing for cracks or other possible damageDiscoloration, warping or raised top, indicates that battery has overheated or been overchargedIf casting is damaged, replace battery and thoroughly clean battery tray and close area with water and baking soda
