Section 07 TRANSMISSION Subsection 02 (DRIVE PULLEY)
WARNING
Never substitute conical spring washer andor screw with jobber onesAlways use BRP genuine parts for this particular caseUse holderSee removal procedureTRA III Torque screw to 80 to 100 Nm (59 to 74 lbfft)TRA IV Torque screw to 125 to 135 Nm (92 to 100 lbfft)All Models Install drive belt and guardRaise and block the rear of the vehicle and support it with mechanical stand
This adjustable drive pulley allows setting maximum engine RPM in the vehicle to maintain maximum powerCalibration screws should be adjusted so that actual maximum engine RPM in vehicle matches the maximum horsepower RPM given in TECHNICAL DATANOTE: Use precision digital tachometer for engine RPM adjustmentNOTE: The adjustment has an effect on high RPM onlyTo adjust, modify ramp end position by turning calibration screwsTRA IV From factory TRA drive pulley adjustment screws are set to position 3This position allows the best compromise between acceleration, top speed and fuel economyPosition or would provide the best fuel economyTop speed would be reducedPosition would give the best accelerationFuel economy would be reduced
