High Coolant Temperature Warning Device
When the coolant temperature is getting to high, the ECM sends out signals to the buzzer, the engine overheating warning lamp and to the EMS pilot lamp

The system is quite flexibleUp to tether cord caps may be programmed in the memory of the vehicle ECMThey can also be erased individuallyNOTE: If desired, tether cord cap can be used on other vehicles equipped with the DESSIt only needs to be programmed for that vehicleThe memory of the ECM features self-diagnostic mode for the DESS operationRefer to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES section for more informationThe memory of the ECM is permanentIf the battery is disconnected, no information is lostNote that the DESS anti-drive circuitry is already activated on all new ECM
