Check the continuity between pin on wiring harness TPS connector and pin 24 on wiring harness ECM connectorIf tests are good, replace the TPSIf voltage tests are not good, continue to check the resistance of the rest of the TPS circuit
Resistance Test
Reconnect the TPSDisconnect the connector from the ECM25 24
NOTE: When measuring between pins A-24 and A-39, resistance value increases while depressing throttle leverWhen measuring between pins A-24 and A-25, resistance value decreases while depressing throttle leverThe resistance value should change smoothly and proportionally to the throttle movementOtherwise, replace TPSIf resistance values are correct, try new ECMRefer to ECM REPLACEMENT procedures elsewhere in this sectionIf resistance values are incorrect, repair connector or replace the wiring harness between ECM connector and the TPS
Replacement
Remove the throttle body as described aboveLoosen two screws retaining the TPSRemove TPS
