1Chain tensioner plug
WARNING
Never perform this operation immediately after the engine has been run because the exhaust system can be very hotWait until exhaust system is warm or cold spring no8 screws no7
Check chain tension guides no24 for wearReplace as necessaryCheck spring conditionReplace if broken or worn
Installation
NOTE: At installation, replace the O-rings no4 and no9Slightly grease the O-rings before assembly using super lube greaseFor installation, reverse the removal procedurePay attention to the following detailsTorque chain tensioner housing screws to Nm (80 lbfin)Apply Loctite 243 (PN 293 800 060) on threadsNOTE: Slightly screw the plunger until it touches the chain tension guideUse only two fingers to hold the screwdriver, in order to recognize the gentle contact with the chain tension guideCAUTION: Improper adjustment of the chain tension will lead to severe engine damageInstall spring end in plunger groove and the other in the plug screw grooveScrew in plug screw no10 by handThere must be no distortion of the spring during installationTorque plug screw to Nm (44 lbfin)
