SECTION 05ENGINE PREPARATION
WARNING
Solvent with low flash point such as gasoline, naphtha, benzol, etc should not be used as they are flammable and explosiveCheck throttle slide for wearReplace as necessaryCheck for fuel soaked into float no1; replace as necessaryCheck float for cracks or other damages affecting free movement; replace as necessaryInspect throttle and choke cables and housings for any damageReplace as necessary
Pilot Jet
Use narrow screwdriver from carburetor tool kit (PN 404 112 000) to unfasten pilot jet no7
Throttle Slide WARNING
It is critical to the free operation of the throttle slide that the connecting plates as assembled in one carburetor be of the exact same lengthAlways replace the connecting plates by pair of new ones that were matched at the factory for length and discard the old onesSimultaneously replace all the plates of the carburetors of same rackDo not disassemble throttle slide no17 needlesslyCAUTION: After throttle slide reassembly, proceed with leak testSee below for procedureHeated Carburetor Models Disassemble both carburetors at the same timeCoolant hose between carburetor throttle slide covers must remain in place during the complete disassembly and assemblyAll Models Remove carburetor coverLoosen needle retainer screw no8Fully open throttle and hold in this position for the following stepMove aside needle retainer no9DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY
