Remove consoleMach and Summit If applicable, cut locking ties retaining harnesses to steering column no1Unbolt handlebar ass'y from steering column and move it asideRemove tuned pipeDetach the short tie rod no8 from the steering columnNote that hardened flat washer no7 goes on each side of steering column leverDisengage carriage bolts no5 and no6 from steering columnRemove plastic U-clamps from steering columnPull steering column from topIf, for any reason, the master cylinder has been removed from handlebar note that its clamp no27 must be installed with the embossed arrow pointing downwardTorque screws to Nm (71 lbfin) beginning with the bottom screw
