CHAINCASE HOUSING BEARINGS
Inspection
The bearings must turn smoothly and freelyIf not, replace them
Removal
To remove the upper bearing no28, remove the circlip no32 and pull the bearing out of the housingThe bearing is not installed press fit in the housingFor the lower bearing no29 press machine will be necessaryRemove the circlip no33Turn the housing and remove the oil seal no31Support the housing around bearing location and push the bearing out of housing with the press3 2

Installation
The installation is the reverse of the removal procedureNOTE: Always install bearings with their seals towards inside of chaincase
On the Right Side of Vehicle: Remove: drive chain and sprockets spacer no24Using plastic hammer, knock on the countershaft no25 until the countershaft bearing comes out of its supportRemove countershaftTo remove the countershaft bearing no36, see COUNTERSHAFT BEARING further in this section
