Section 04 ENGINE MANAGEMENT (SDI) Subsection 03 (COMPONENT INSPECTION, REPLACEMENT AND ADJUSTMENT)
NOTE: Take into account that CPS fault can be triggered by missing encoder wheel teethFirst check fault codes then check the teeth condition if necessarySee belowDisconnect CPS wiring harness connectorProbe terminals coming from CPS while cranking engineVoltage should be within 1-2 VacOtherwise, inspect wiring and replace CPS if wiring is good
Resistance Test
Disconnect the CPS plug connector from the wiring harness and check the resistance of the sensor itselfand The resistance should be between 190 300 Otherwise, replace the CPSIf resistance tests good, reconnect the CPS and disconnect the connector on the ECMUsing multimeter, recheck resistance value between terminals and 19If resistance value is correct, try new ECMRefer to ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) in this sectionIf resistance value is incorrect, repair the connectors or replace the wiring harness between ECM connector and the CPS.A35C44A
