Section 02 ENGINE Subsection 11 (REWIND STARTER)
GENERAL
During assemblyinstallation, use torque values and service products as shown in exploded view(s)Clean threads before applying threadlockerRefer to SELF-LOCKING FASTENERS and LOCTITE APPLICATION at the beginning of this manual for complete procedure
REMOVAL
Using small screwdriver, extract rope knot from starter gripCut rope close to knotTie knot near starterRemove screws no2 securing rewind starter no1 to engine then remove rewind starter
ROPE REPLACEMENT
Pull out ropeHold rewind starter in viseSlide rope and untie the knotPull out the rope completely
WARNING
Torque wrench tightening specifications must strictly be adhered toLocking devices (e.g locking tabs, elastic stop nuts, self-locking fasteners, cotter pin, etc must be installed or replaced with new ones where specifiedIf the efficiency of locking device is impaired, it must be renewed
