TROUBLESHOOTING
Before completely disassembling the engine, proceed with an engine leak testRefer to LEAK TEST
CAUTION: Never use sharp object to scrape away old sealant as score marks incurred are harmful to crankcase sealingDo not wipe with ragsUse new clean hand towel only
GENERAL
During assemblyinstallation, use torque values and service products as shown in exploded view(s)Clean threads before applying threadlockerRefer to SELF-LOCKING FASTENERS and LOCTITE APPLICATION at the beginning of this manual for complete procedure
DISASSEMBLY
General
Remove cylinder head and cylinder blockRefer to TOP ENDRemove rewind starterRefer to REWIND STARTERRemove magneto flywheel and statorRefer to MAGNETO SYSTEM
WARNING
Torque wrench tightening specifications must strictly be adhered toLocking devices (e.g locking tabs, elastic stop nuts, self-locking fasteners, cotter pin, etc must be installed or replaced with new ones where specifiedIf the efficiency of locking device is impaired, it must be renewed
