Section 07 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Subsection 02 (CHARGING SYSTEM)
Removal
MODEL Fan-cooled engines Liquid-cooled engine LOCATION RH side of vehicle, under chaincase LH side of vehicle, behind driven pulley
All Models Disconnect battery (if so equipped)Unplug the voltage regulatorrectifier connectorRemove screws that attach the voltage regulatorrectifier to the frame
Disconnect BLACK () cable end from the terminalSlide off rubber boot from RED (+) cable and disconnect itUnscrew the bracket retaining nut and lift bracket to remove itPut bracket asideRemove battery1 2
Installation
The installation is the reverse of the removal procedureTorque voltage regulatorrectifier screws to Nm (44 lbfin)
