Section 07 ENGINES MANAGEMENT (4-TEC) Subsection 02 (COMPONENT INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT)

Using multimeter, recheck resistance value between terminals 11 and 27If resistance value is correct, try new ECMRefer to ECM REPLACEMENT procedures elsewhere in this sectionIf resistance value is incorrect, repair the connectors or replace the wiring harness between ECM connector and the CTS
NOTE: This sensor is dual function deviceWhen engine is started and it runs at idle speed, the sensor takes the atmospheric pressure and stores it in the ECMThereafter, it takes the manifold air pressure at operating RPMsEnsure sensor is correctly installed on intake manifoldOtherwise, the MAPS could generate fault code for an unexpected sensor range at idle when it reads the atmospheric pressureRemove sensor and check for oil or dirt on its end and if problem persists, check throttle plate conditionposition and the wiring harnessPerform the following tests
