Using the vehicle communication kit (VCK) with the B.U.D.Ssoftware, monitor the knock sensor using the Faults sectionStart the engine and bring engine RPM above 6000 RPMIf no fault code occurs, the knock sensor is goodOtherwise, do the followingEnsure sensor and head contact surfaces are clean and mounting bolt and washer are correct and properly torqued downCheck the knock sensor circuit on wiring harnessDisconnect the connector from knock sensor harnessDisconnect connector DA form the ECM and check continuity of circuit as per following table

Disconnect the solenoid connectorCheck resistance value between both terminals of the solenoidThe resistance value should be approximately 30
