NOTE: Although it is not necessary to position crankshaft to TDC for disassembly, it is good practice to do it, as troubleshooting step, to know before disassembly if valve timing was appropriate
Removal
The procedure for disassembly of the two camshaft timing gears no28 and no70, is the sameLock crankshaft with crankshaft locking bolt (PN 529 035 900), refer to CRANKSHAFT AND DRIVE GEARSRemove: valve cover (refer to VALVE COVER) breather (refer to BREATHER) chain tensioner (refer to CHAIN TENSIONER) decompressor (refer to DECOMPRESSOR) chain guide no30 screws no29 camshaft timing gear no70NOTE: Secure camshaft chain no27 with retaining wire
