Section 05 ENGINES (4-TEC) Subsection 04 (COOLING SYSTEM)
CAUTION: Never allow coolant tank to be empty during the filling procedureLet engine idling for about 10 minutes or until radiators are warm which means that the thermostat is openKeep engine idling for an additional minutes maximum or until coolant temperature reaches 100C (212F)Always keep coolant tank half filled but the bleed hose freeCAUTION: Never allow coolant to exceed 100C (212F)Put thermometer in coolant tank to monitor the temperatureStop engineFill up both coolant tank no28 and overflow coolant tank no29Install their respective capsLet vehicle cool down for at least 30 minutesCheck coolant level in overflow coolant tank no29Some coolant should have been sucked through the overflow hose up to the coolant tankIf not repeat refilling procedureIf some coolant have been siphoned from the overflow coolant tank no29, remove pressure cap no30 and fill up the coolant tank no28Reinstall pressure cap no30Fill overflow coolant tank no29 to maximum level lineRecheck coolant level after vehicle has completely cooled downCoolant tank no28 must be full and the level in overflow coolant tank no29 must be between the minimum and maximum marks
