In terms of your suspension, if bump is encountered that translates into force at the spring of 450 pounds, the 100 lbfin spring will want to compress 4.5 inches while the 150 lbfin spring will only compress inchesIf our suspension only has inches of spring travel the unit with the 100 lbfin spring will bottom out while the 150 lbfin unit still has inch of travel remaining (see following illustration)
