Section 06 TRANSMISSION Subsection 05 (BRAKE)
BRAKE FLUID
The brake fluid must be changed in accordance with the maintenance chartUse recommended brake fluid SRF (DOT 4) (PN 293 600 063) or GTLMA (DOT 4) (PN 293 600 062)CAUTION: Use only DOT brake fluid, SRF (PN 293 600 063) or GTLMA (PN 293 600 062)Do not use fluids other than the recommended one, nor mix different fluids for topping up
CALIPER
Removal
Unscrew screws no21 and remove locking tab no20 to pull out caliper no6 from chaincase
MASTER CYLINDER
Removal
The master cylinder no1 is located on the LH side of handlebarTo remove it, unscrew both screws no2 retaining the brake lever to the handlebarPlace container under Banjo bolt no3 then unscrew itDiscard the sealing rings no4A33D1FA
Installation
The installation is the reverse of removal procedurePay attention to the followingAlways use new sealing rings no4 during installationInstall clamp no5 with its arrow pointing at downwardsTighten to Nm (71 lbfin) lower screw before upper one
