Resistance Test
Remove spark plug cables from ignition coilUsing multimeter, check the resistance of primary windingNOTE: The secondary winding can not be measured with an ohmmeterTry new double ignition coil if necessary1 2

Install tether cord cap on the DESS post and push the STARTRER button momentarily to activate the ECMCheck voltage between terminal of ignition coil connector on the wiring harness and battery groundBattery voltage should be present (approx12 V)If 12 is NOT read, check continuity between terminal of ignition coil and the corresponding fuseOtherwise repair wiring harnessIf 12 is read, disconnect the connector from the ECM and check the continuity of appropriate circuit 41 (cylinder 1) or (cylinder 2) and of ignition coil connector, pin and pin respectively
