LOWER STEERING COLUMN
Removal
Remove chain as explained in UPPER AND LOWER STEERING COLUMN POSITIONINGDetach the short tie rod no12 from the lower steering column no11Note that hardened flat washer no24 goes on each side of steering column leverDisengage carriage bolts no25 from chassisDisengage carriage bolts no26 from upper steering support no21, then pull steering column out of vehicle

Inspection
Check steering column for cracks, bending or other damagesReplace if any problem is detectedCheck plastic U-clamps for wear or cracksReplace if necessary
1Screws securing steering wheel
Installation
For the installation, reverse the removal procedureMake sure that steering wheel extension no15 is positioned at the lower position
