Section 04 ENGINE Subsection 03 (EXHAUST SYSTEM)
Tighten the muffler rubber mount nutsAfter installation, ensure there is no exhaust gas leak when engine is running
EXHAUST MANIFOLD
Removal
Remove muffler, then unbolt exhaust manifold
Inspection
Inspect exhaust manifold paying attention for cracks or other damageCheck contact surfacesReplace any defective partInspect plane surfaces for warpageSmall deformation can be corrected by grinding surface with fine sand paperInstall sand paper on surface plate and rub part against oiled sand paperClean all metal components in solvent

Installation
Installation is essentially the reverse of removal proceduresHowever, pay particular attention to the following: Install new exhaust gasketApply Loctite 518 on threads of screwsTorque screws to 10 Nm (88 lbfin) as per following illustrated sequenceRepeat the procedure, torquing screws again to 10 Nm (88 lbfin)7 11
