Section 05 TRANSMISSION Subsection 03 (DRIVE PULLEY)
5, Fixed Half and Crankshaft End
Parts must be at room temperature before cleaningUsing paper towel with cleaning solvent, clean crankshaft tapered end and the taper inside the fixed half of the drive pulley, crankshaft threads and retaining screw threads
CAUTION: Ensure rollers are in good conditionReplace as required
9,12, Fitting Bolt Ass'y and Flanged Bushing
Check for wear, replace as required
WARNING
This procedure must be performed in wellventilated areaCAUTION: Avoid contact between cleaner and crankshaft seal because damage may occurRemove all hardened oil deposits that have baked on crankshaft and pulley tapered surfaces with coarse or medium steel wool andor sand paper no600CAUTION: Do not use any other type of abrasiveReclean mounting surfaces with paper towel and cleaning solventWipe off the mounting surfaces with clean, dry paper towelCAUTION: Mounting surfaces must be free of any oil, cleaner or towel residue
24,25, O-Ring and Slider Shoe
Check if O-rings are cracked, cut or crushedReplace as requiredCheck slider shoes for wearReplace if groove is not apparent on top
