Section 06 ELECTRICAL Subsection 05 (ELECTRIC STARTER)
REMOVAL
Disconnect BLACK ground cable from battery Disconnect RED positive cable from battery Disconnect RED cable from starter solenoid switch Remove starter from engine
CAUTION
Support drive housing adequately to prevent damage when pressing bushing
INSTALLATION
Make sure that starter and engine mating surfaces are free of grimeSerious trouble may arise if starter is not properly alignedInstall starterNOTE: Check proper engaging depth of starter pinion teeth to ring gear teeth (see illustration)Install hardened washers (PN 503 007 900) between engine and starter supports accordingly
