1,8, Upper Crankcase and Lower Crankcase
Crankcase halves are factory matched and therefore, are not interchangeable or available as single halvesPrior to joining of crankcase halves, spray some new injection oil (or equivalent) on all moving parts of the crankshaftSpray Primer (PN 413 7081 00) on one of mating surfacesLet it dry for 10 to 20 minutesApply paste gasket (PN 413 7027 00) no5 on the other mating surfaceNOTE: Primer allows Loctite 515 to fully cure on aluminum surfacesIt increases filling capacity and reduces curing timeA06C1MA
454 AND 670 ENGINES EXHAUST SIDE 1Drive pins
CAUTION
Make sure drive pins of bearings are on exhaust side of crankcase for proper seating in recesses
CAUTION
Before joining crankcase halves be sure that crankshaft rotary valve gear is well engaged with rotary valve shaft gearPosition the crankcase halves together and tighten screws by hand then install and tighten armature plate on magneto side to correctly align crankcase halvesApply Loctite 242 on screw threads and under headTorque screws as specified following illustrated sequence1 15 11 13
