Results :
a) Indicator lamp lightsIgnition generator coil output up to specificationsb) Indicator lamp does not lightThe problem is faulty ignition generator
3) Crank engine and observe indicatorNOTEIf engine starts, allow it to idle while observing indicator, Then, shut engine off4) Push reset button and repeat step twiceResultsa) Indicator lamp lightsIgnition system is OKb) Indicator lamp does not light on one or both cylinderThe problem is faulty ignition coil module
IGNITION COIL OUTPUT
A paper clip of approximately 20 mm (34 in) will be used as test adapter for the following test1Clip the test adapter around spark plug cable close to MAG side spark plug2) Connect tester wires then set switch and dial as follows :
Tester wires Component wires Test adapter (paper clip) on spark plug cable LOW Engine ground Tester switch position Tester dial position
