Section 06 STEERINGSKIS Sub-section 01 (STEERING SYSTEM)
CAUTION: Angle finder must sit square against swing armPositioning angle finder against weld bead or deeal may result in false reading Loosen both upper control arm jam nuts and adjust its length to obtain vertical ski leg (00 0.5 )Torque jam nuts to 29 N-m (21 Ibf-ft)- Lower vehicle to ground and allow suspension to settleHANDLEBARTOE OUT Check that handlebar is horizontal when skis are in straight ahead position by measuring from the extremities of the grips to the rearmost edge of the tunnel, as shown
WARNING: Never lengthen tie rod so that threaded portion of ball joint exceeds 17 mm (1116 in) outside tie rodTo avoid this, distribute adjustment requirements equally to both tie rods Close front of skis manually to take all slack from steering mechanism
NOTE: rubber band can be hooked in front of skis to keep them closed
