b) Indicator lamp does not light: Generating coil output is below specificationsThis could be caused by faulty generating coil or breaker pointsCheck breaker points condition and adjustment, and correct as necessaryRepeat testIf lamp still does not light the coil is defective and should be replaced 2Lighting coils output (247 engine type)

Results:
a) Indicator lamp lights: Lighting coil output is up to specificationsRepeat test at least three (3) times to verify reading and consistencyb) Indicator lamp does not light: Lighting coil is faulty
NOTE: There are two independent lighting coils; main (large) coil wires are yellow and yellowblack while brake lighting coil (small) wires are green and greenblack1) Disconnect wiring harness junction block at engine2) Connect tester leads as illustrated using two (2) harness adaptorsLarge lighting coil: yellow and yellowblack wires Small lighting coil: green and greenblack (or ground) wires
