Section 03 TRANSMISSION Sub-section 03 (DRIVE PULLEY)
To block engine crankshaft: Remove starter rope blocking piston, then reblock piston after having turned 45 counterclockwise from TDC position; or install crankshaft locking toolTo remove inner half: Install puller in pulley shaft then tighten, at the same time, knock slightly on puller head to disengage pulley from engine crankshaft
INSPECTION
Drive pulley should be inspected annually
5,9, Innerouter half
Check outer half for excessive lateral play and inner half shaft for scratches CAUTION: Ensure rollers are in good conditionT Replace as required
DISASSEMBLY
CAUTION: Do not disassemble counterweights unless replacement is necessary
25, Duralon bushing
Check for excessive play on inner half shaftReplace as required
CLEANING
5,9, Innerouter half
Clean pulley faces and shaft with acetone then with fine steel wool and dry clothClean outer half bushing with clean dry cloth
