Section 02 ENGINE Sub-section 04 (467 ENGINE TYPE)
NaTE: The following procedures can be done without removing the engine from chassis
CLEANING
Discard all gaskets and a-ringsClean all metal components in non-ferrous metal cleanerScrape off carbon formation from cylinder exhaust port, cylinder head and piston dome using wooden spatula
NaTE: The letters "AUS" (over an arrow on the piston domel must be visible after cleaning
Clean the piston ring grooves with groove cleaner tool, or with piece of broken ring
DISASSEMBLY
16,17,18, Piston, piston pincirclip
Place clean cloth over crankcase then with pointed tool inserted in piston notch, remove circlip from pistonTo remove piston pin, use piston pin puller (PIN 5290068 00) as follows:FOlly screw puller handle- Place stop notch of puller in line with the puller axis- Insert puller end into piston pin- Rotate stop notch of puller so that corners protude the puller endRotate so that corners protude Cylinder taper Cylinder out of round Cylinderpiston clearance
