Section 04 ELECTRICAL Sub-section 05 (ELECTRIC STARTER)
INSTALLATION
Make sure that starter and engine mating surfaces are free of grimeSerious trouble may arise if starter is not properly aligned,
Install starterConnect the red battery cable and the red Wire to the large terminal of the solenoidConnect redgreen wire to small terminal of solenoidConnect black cable to battery

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Causes of troubles are not necessarily in the starting system (starter} but may be due to faulty battery, switches, electrical cables andor connectionsTrouble may also be attributed to malfunctioning of the ignition system andor fuel system The following troubleshooting table is limited to the starting system
WARNING: Short-circuiting the electric sta'rter is always danger, therefore disconnect the ground cable at the battery before carrying out any kind of maintenance on the starting systemDo not place tools on battery
SYMPTOM
Starter does not turnStarter turns; but does not crank the engine
