29,35, Ball joints
Inspect ball Joint ends for wear or looseness, if excessive, replace
66,100,101, Screw stopper, screwLoctite 271
In order to remove the screw, heat to 93C (200F) to break the Loctite bondAt assembly, clean all threads and apply drop of Loctite 271Torque screw to 29 N.m (21 Ibfft)Bend tab of screw stopper over flat of screw head
NOTE: Screw the longest threaded end of ball joint into the tie rod, ensure that half of the total number of threads are inserted into the tie rodThe cut-off section of the tie rod end must run parallel with the horizontal line of the steering arm when assembled on vehicleThe tie rod end should be restrained when tightening tie rod end lock nutFor torque specifications see illustrations

Alpine 60,61,62, Ball bushing, Allen boltnut
Affix the ball bushing to steering shaft using appropriate Allen head boltTighten bolt until there is approximately mm (114") free-play existing between ball bushing and steering shaft
