Section 02 ENGINE Sub-section 13 (REWIND STARTER)
REMOVAL
1,2,3, Starter housing, lockwashersscrews
Remove screws and washers securing rewind starter to engine then remove rewind starter
ASSEMBLY
4,5, Rewind springspring guide
At assembly, position spring outer end into spring guide notch then wind the spring clockwise into guideWARNING: Since the spring is tightly wound inside the guide it may fly out when the guide is han dledAlways handle with care.Outer end into gUide notch
NOTE: On some models the hood requires supporting before removing starter housing(The retaining cable is attached to one of the rewind starter attaching bolts)On fan cooled models with oil injection pump remove pump from rewind starter cover

To remove rope from rewind starter mechanism:
9,10,11,12,13, Pawl, pawl lock, circlip, lock springlock ring
- First remove lock ring, lock spring, circlip, pawl lock and pawlAOOI00209
