SECTION 06 STEERINGSKIS SUB-SECTION 01 (STEERING SYSTEM)
29,35, Ball joints
Inspect ball joint ends for wear or looseness, if excessive, replaceNOTE: Screw the longest threaded end of ball joint into the tie rod, ensure that half of the total number of threads are inserted into the tie rodThe cut-off section of the tie rod end must run parallel with the horizontal line of the steering arm when assembled on vehicleThe tie rod end should be restrained when tightening tie rod end lock nutFor torque specifications see illustrations Open wrench

Alpine 60,61,62, Ball bushing, Allen boltnut
Affix the ball bushing to steering shaft using appropriate Allen head boltTighten bolt until there is approximately mm (14") free-play existing between ball bushing and steering shaft
Torque nut to 61 N.m (45 ftlbs)

ADJUSTABLE HANDLEBAR
1,3, Steering columnhandlebar

If applicable, remove the steering clamp and nuts holding the handlebar to the steering column
