SECTION 04 ELECTRICAL SUB-SECTION 06 (TESTING PROCEDURE)
4) Turn ignition key to ON position, disable emergency cut-out button circuit and tether cut-out switch then crank enginea) Indicator lamp lights: Coil output is up to specificationsRepeat test at least three (3) times to verify reading and check for consistencyb) Indicator lamp does not light: Coil output is below specificationsThis could be caused by faulty coil or breaker pointsCheck breaker points condition and adjustment, and correct as necessaryRepeat testIf lamp still does not light the coil is defective and should be replaced

1High speed charging coil
1) Disconnect wire connectors from C.D .1electronic box harness at engine 2) Connect tester test lead to blackwhite wire and connect tester test lead to blackred wire at the magneto harness(TYPICAl)
2Lighting coils output (247 engine type)
NOTE: There are two independent coils; main (large) coil wires are yellow and yellowblack while brake light coil (small) wires are green and greenblack 1) Disconnect wiring harness junction block at engine2) Connect tester leads as illustrated using two (2) harness adaptors large coil: yellow and yellowblack wires small coil: green and greenblack (or ground) wires 3) Set tester switch and dial as follows: Engine type Switch position LOW Dial
