SECTION 04 ELECTRICAL SUB-SECTION 05 (ELECTRIC STARTER)
INSTALLATION
Make sure that starter and engine mating surfaces are free of grime Serious trouble may arise if starter is not properly alignedInsta ll starterConnect the red battery cable and the red wire to the large terminal of the solenoidConnect red green wire to small terminal of solenoidConnect black cable to battery
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Causes of troubles are not necessarily in the starting system (starter) but may be due to faulty battery, switches, electrical cables andor connections Trouble may also be attributed to malfunctioning of the ignition system and or fuel systemThe following trouble shooting table is limited to the starting systemWARNING: Short circuiting the electric starter is always danger, therefore disconnect the ground cable at the battery before carrying out any kind of maintenance on the starting systemDo not place tools on battery
