SECTION 06 STEERINGSKIS SUB-SECTION 01 (STEERING SYSTEM)
ADJUSTABLE STEERING HANDLE
If applicable, remove and discard the clamp and nuts holding the steering handle to the steering column Install the four (4) clamps CD, the coverthe four (4) screws and nutsto the column, as illustrated
Loosen the jam nuts locking the tie rod(s) in placeTurn tie rod(s) manually until alignment is correctTighten jam nuts firmlyIMPORTANT: Close front of skis manually to take all slack from steering mechanism
All models (except Alpine)
Check that handlebar is horizontal while skis are parallel with the vehicleTo correct loosen shorter tie rod jam nuts Turn tie rod manually until handlebar is horizontalTighten jam nuts firmly
When assembling steering arm and ski legthe handlebar must be horizontal with the ski perpendicular to the vehicle On all vehicles, adjust the steering handle to the desired position Lock the handle in place by tightening the four (4) screws to 26 N.m (19 ft-Ibs)_ CAUTION: Tighten the screws equally in crisscross sequence and ensure there is an equal gap on each side of the clamps
