SECTION 03 TRANSMISSION SUB-SECTION 03 (DRIVE PULLEY)
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Do not disassemble counterweights unless replacement is necessary
CD With engine cold, remove spark plug(s) then bring P.TO(Power Take Off) piston at TDC(Top Dead Center) positionRotate drive pulley 45 clockwise then insert enough starter rope into cylinder to fill it completelyWARNING: Spring pressure can force assembly apart; therefore, it is imperative that the governor cup be held firmly during governor retaining bolt removalIf it is necessary to remove the inner half, slide length of steel pipe over shaftAttach with 5 16" nut and bolt, as illustratedThe inner half can then be removed with pipe wrench(Uncrew counterclockwise
Use as required, maximum of two (2) Used to obtain neutral function of the drive pulley when engine is idlingrefer to INSTALLATIONUsed to obtain correct pulley alignment, refer to section 03-05+
