CLEANIN G
Discard all gaskets Clean all metal components in non-ferrous metal cleanerScrape off carbon formation from cy li nder exhaust port, cylinderhead and piston dome using wooden spatula
ASSEMBLY
assemblyplace the piston over the connecting rod with the lettersAUS" (over an arrow on the piston dome) facing in direction of the exhaust port
NOTE: The letters "AUS" (over an arrow on the piston dome) must be visible after cleaningEXHAUST
Clean the piston ring grooves with groove cleaner tool, or with piece of broken ring
DISASSEMBLY
CD G) 0Place clean cloth over crankcase to prevent circlips from falling into crankcase Use pointed tool to remove circlips from piston_ CAU TI ONWhen tapping out gudgeon pins, holdpiston irmly in place to eliminate the possibilities of transm itting shock and pressure to the connecting rod
minimize the effect of acceleration forces on circlipinsta ll each circ lip so the circlip break is at o'c lock as ill ustratedRemove any burrs on piston caused through circlip installation ith very fine emery cloth
