BATTERY
REMOVAL
WARNING: When disconnecting battery cables, always remove the black negative cable first then the positive cable (red)Care should be taken while disconnecting above mentioned cables otherwise battery post breakage could occur+
A hydrometer measures battery's state of charge in terms of specific gravityMost hydrometers only read true at 27C (SOF) In order to obtain correct readings, adjust the initial reading by adding004 points to the hydrometer readings for each 4C (10F) above 27C (SOF) and by subtracting .004 points for every 4C (10F) below 27C (SOF)Refer to the following illustrationTHE ILLUSTRATION WILL AID YOU IN FINDING THE CORRECT READING
CLEANING
Clean the battery casing, vent caps, cables and battery posts using solution of baking soda and water CAUTION: Do not allow cleaning solution to enter battery interior since it will destroy the electrolyteRemove corrosion from battery cable terminals and battery posts using firm copper brushAt 38 32 27 21
