TROUBLE SHOOTING
1Uneven belt wear on one side only
Uneven wear
CAUSE a) Loose engine mountb) Pulley misalignmentc) Rough or scratched pulley surfaces
REMEDY a) Tighten engine mount nuts equallyb) Align pulleysc) Repair or replace pulley half
2Belt glazed excessively or having baked appearanceCAUSE REMEDY a) Check drive pulley for worn or missing flyweights! rollersb) Clean shaft with steel wool and lubricate with low temperature greasec) Clean pulley surfaces with fine emery cloth and clean clothd) Install correct governor
Excessive slippage caused by: a) Insufficient pressure on belt sidesb) Rusted drive or driven pulley shaftsc) Oil on pulley surfaces
d) Incorrect centrifugal governor
