SECTION 04 SUB-SECTION 03, (ELECTRIC STARTER)
For assembly, follow the disassembly procedure in the reverse order, paying attention to the following: Coat the sliding surfaces and moving portions of the
armature splines, overrunning clutch, bushings and the
CLEANING
CAUTION: Armature starter yoke ass'y and drive unit assembly must not be immersed in cleaning solvent_
solenoid switch plunger with multipurpose grease (water, climate and coldness resistant)Reinstall the drive lever as illustrated below
Clean brushes and holders with clean cloth soaked solventBrushes must be dried thoroughly with clean clothBlow brush holders clean using compressed air,
Remove dirt, oil or grease from commutator using clean
Drive lever
Overrunning
cloth soaked in suitable solvent, Dry well using clean, dry cloth, Clean engine starter gear teeth and drive unit (clutch)
NOTE: Bearing bushing of the drive unit must not be cleaned with grease dissolving agents,
