SUB-SECTION 04 (DR IVEN PULLEY)
INSTALLATI ON
- Reinstall the countershaft and the flange bearin ass 'y(Do not fully tighten th bearing flange until the alignment of the counte rshaft is completed)Re install the chaincase, oil seal, sprockets, drive chain, tab locksTorque sprocket retaining bolts to (7 ft -Ibs) Bend tab locksTo align the countershaft use 6" (a pprox) plastic square(Cut out 1" 2" section as illu stratedAdj ust the coun ters haft so th at it is perpend icular to the frame(Use pla sti hammer to adjust, to not tap on the keyway)When the shaft is well adjusted, tighten al nutsTi ghten bearing co ll ar agai nst bea ri ng seat until we ll sea ted, th en lock in place by tightening the Allen set sc rew(Loctite 242 blue medium strength)
